Petty Officer Second Class

Aviation Structural Mechanic

Led a 15-person maintenance work center supporting mission-critical aircraft. Performed inspections, repairs, quality assurance, welding, fabrication, and technical troubleshooting.

Trained technicians and interpreted engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to support operational readiness.

03 / SELECTED WORK

Planning with an
operational purpose.

Infrastructure and process initiatives that connect technical requirements with long-term reliability, sustainability, and consistent execution.

FEATURED PROJECT / SCADA MODERNIZATION

Facility-wide water monitoring & operational intelligence

Led SCADA modernization planning and Phase 1 implementation, bringing water-system monitoring, multi-level alarms, and historical analysis into an implemented Ignition platform.

Water monitoring across the facility

Monitors incoming industrial and potable water, water produced by all treatment systems, wastewater processed and discharged to the municipality, and ion exchange resin filter performance.

Alarms, historian & analysis

Implemented multi-level alarms and historical data collection for detailed performance analysis, with data export capability for tools such as Power BI.

Server infrastructure & future expansion

Installed a new server to support SCADA and enable IT to establish an IoT network for future use. Coordinated instrumentation, controls integration, vendors, and technical teams.

Implementation status

Ignition software fully implemented; user permissions and access configuration were in progress. Provisions included wastewater pit-level and municipal discharge-pH monitoring, both not yet implemented.

FACILITY INFRASTRUCTURE / CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS

Modernizing critical wastewater infrastructure

Managed an approximately $1.5 million capital project portfolio focused on equipment capacity, operational reliability, and safer facility layouts. Coordinated bulk ferric chloride tank installations directly with the internal maintenance team.

Sludge filter press replacement

Replaced two sludge filter presses that were more than 25 years old, improving performance and capacity by approximately 25% for each press.

Bulk ferric chloride storage

Replaced two bulk ferric chloride tanks, increasing storage capacity by 30%. Personally organized the installations with the maintenance team.

Ion exchange resin replacement

Facilitated resin replacement for one ion exchange system to renew its treatment media.

Bulk sodium hydroxide storage

Replaced and relocated the bulk sodium hydroxide tank, increasing storage capacity by more than 20% and improving safety by moving the tank away from a common walking path.

Wastewater pit rehabilitation

Coordinated relining of two wastewater pits with zero system downtime, while improving the overall layout and organization of the area.

PHASE 2 PREPARATION

Wastewater microfiltration replacement

Planned a full wastewater microfiltration system replacement, with all vendor quotes prepared and ready for Phase 2.
